21-year-old man died of multiple gunshot wounds in deadly Moxham shooting, officials say

JOHNSTOWN – Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said that 21-year-old Kareem Lee Brandon died of multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday night in the Moxham section of Johnstown.

Lees ruled the death a homicide during a Thursday afternoon news conference, the first of 2017 in Johnstown.

Authorities said they have no motive or suspects, although acting Johnstown police Capt. Jeff Janciga said two people were interviewed after the shooting.

The shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. on a sidewalk in the 400 block of Grove Avenue.

Brandon was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:16 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

Brandon, from Johnstown, had a lengthy criminal past.
