Altoona man killed after colliding with tractor-trailer in Snyder Township

State police in Blair County say an Altoona man was killed Monday afternoon after his Fiat collided with a tractor-trailer in Snyder Township.

Troopers say 30-year-old Justin Kelly was traveling southbound on Pennington Road, around 12:30 p.m., while approaching its intersection with Birmingham Pike.

Investigators say Kelly reportedly pulled out in front of an oncoming tractor-trailer, which was traveling westbound along Birmingham Pike.

Police say the collision caused Kelly's Fiat to be "shoved" into the eastbound travel lane and overturn onto its passenger side.

The Blair County coroner's office says Kelly was later pronounced dead at UPMC Altoona.

Investigators note that the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash.

Officials with the Blair County coroner's office say a 30-year-old man was killed Monday following a multi-vehicle crash in Snyder Township.

Authorities say the coroner's office was called to UPMC Altoona, around 1:30 p.m., for a death investigation.

Officials say Justin Kelly was pronounced dead at the hospital after suffering injuries in the crash, which occurred along Birmingham Pike, near the intersection of Pennington Road.

Authorities say an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

State police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Authorities with Blair County 911 dispatch say multiple people were reportedly injured Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Warriors Mark Township, near the Blair and Huntingdon county line.

Officials say the crash was reported just before 12:30 p.m., near the intersection of Birmingham Pike and Huntingdon Furnace Road.

911 officials say crews have been on scene of the crash for several hours.

According to our 6 News crew, the crash appeared to involve a passenger vehicle and a tri-axle truck, although officials have not yet confirmed that detail.
