Bowling Alley In Carmel Celebrates Renovation With Grand Opening
Spins Bowl is an entertainment division of Mount Kisco-based Diamond Properties, which specializes in renovating and modernizing bowling alleys. Spins Bowl has locations in Mount Kisco Poughkeepsie, Wappinger's Falls, a Peekskill location that will open in 2017, and several locations in Ohio.
"We're excited about the Putnam County market and feel that the area was in need for an event venue like Spins Bowl Carmel," said Bill Diamond, co-founder of Diamond Properties. "We feel we will definitely have the most dynamic entertainment venue in Putnam County."
Diamond Properties invested more than $4 million on the project, including $1.5 million to renovate the 30,000-square-foot facility, which features 26 bowling lanes and an arcade with 45 games, pool tables and foosball. The refurbished restaurant has 16 craft beers on tap and a modernized menu that includes burgers, tacos, salads and craft pizzas.
"I look forward to the grand opening of Spins Bowl," said Bill Nulk, vice president of the Carmel-Kent Chamber of Commerce. "Both the Carmel-Kent Chamber of Commerce and the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce welcome this re-invigorated addition to our business community."
Diamond said the hope is that the newest Spins Bowl will revitalize interest in the entertainment center, which hadn't had any major renovations in 40 years. He said he wants to preserve the bowling alley's strong league while attracting new customers -- and that it's also a good place to host parties and social events.
A VIP grand opening will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 pm. The VIP event will include a short presentation by dignitaries and then a "Roll Off," where VIPs take a synchronized bowl on the new lanes.
The public grand opening will be celebrated from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 14-16. Spins Bowl Carmel, at 23 Old Route 6, is open seven days a week.
