They are reaffirming Claire’s place into the Newman family as Victoria’s first child. Claire called her “Mom” for the first time in tomorrow’s episode. Cole mentioned that Claire would be the eldest of Victoria’s other kids and that she may babysit Johnny and Katie. I don’t think they are at all intending on having the dna test being changed.

That’s been my impression all along.

I don’t know. All that you highlight there is stuff that the characters are doing because they believe the DNA tests, but none of it actually changes the fact that the manner of getting the DNA sample was flawed and could have lead to Claire being falsely identified as Victoria’s daughter. I don’t think that will come out until the Jordan SL is complete but I do think it may come out in the future. And the fact that she is being pulled into the Newman family will just make for more great soapy drama when it does.

Many say Jordan story is ending this week or next week…now wouldn’t it be soap writing if Jordan as she is dying tells them all…Claire yes I took her from hospital just NOT Memorial, she is NOT related to any of you, who are her bio parents well I guess you will have to figure it out.

That would be quite a twist. Seems like something that should have been done during February sweeps but too late for that now.

Claire I think would legally make Victoria and Cole her parents if she somehow wasn’t biologically. Too much time has gone by for them to lose their daughter all over again.

In soapland that doesn’t mean anything. I still believe that with the way the DNA was collected, the hair tested could very well have been Nikki’s hair and not Claire’s. Whether she calls Victoria mom or not, doesn’t negate the fact that there is still an opening left because of that, for her to not be their daughter.

Victoria and Cole might still treat her like their daughter because they have grown attached to her, but what about Victor? Will he still treat her as a Newman once it comes out that she doesn’t have that magical DNA ? And what about the other aunts and uncles etc. This reveal could form the basis for so much soapy drama, some people in favour of accepting her others against, alliances and conflict forming over who is on what side.

Summer being Jack’s child was a mistake with Sharon switching the paternity’s test. If they change Claire’s dna results or reverse the results, it won’t be under JG’s regime. Some other writing team would make that decision

If they decide that Jordan fabricated it all, it won’t be Josh Griffith’s call. It’ll be some other head writer down the road. But I’m in favor of Claire staying a Newman

Because they’re making it evident that Claire is Baby Eve. He wouldn’t suddenly reverse everything. It destroys Victoria’s life and Claire’s life. No coming back from that. Would be the death penalty imo

Do you have behind the scenes info that JG will be leaving soon? Otherwise I don’t see the basis for what you are saying.
The wonky method of getting the DNA sample was put into being by JG’s writing team. Why would he do that if he didn’t at least have the thought of making use of it in the future.

Now I would like to see them chemistry test Claire with Kyle. Not a fan of his after what he did to Summer and his taking up with Audra, but he is an Abbott and here to stay. I would like to see what the writers can do with this pairing.

It means that he’s not going to undo everything he wrote having Claire being accepted into the Newman fold and have Victoria and Cole have to cry and mourn all over again like they did 25 years ago. That would be someone else making that decision. It’d have been a 5 month bunch of BS. He’d almost certainly be fired for it.

They are making it evident that right now everyone thinks that Claire is Victoria’s daughter not that she is her daughter, as I see it. If they didn’t do that then the big reveal, when it comes out that she isn’t, would lose all its drama.
When it does come out that the DNA was wrong, I don’t see how it destroys Victoria’s and Claire’s life any more than other things that have happened. There will be a lot of hand wringing and tears and soapy drama, then they will move on.

Where is it coming out that she’s not her daughter? I think Jordan is going to be killed off and the story will be put to rest. What could happen is if she is just “presumed dead”. And somewhere down the road she could come back and haunt the Newmans. But that won’t happen anytime soon imo

And speaking of Jordan, it seems that her story won’t end this week after all.
