Comedian Carlos Mencia To Tour
LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWIre) — Comedy Central funnyman Carlos Mencia is hitting the road for a new 80-city standup comedy tour. Sponsored by Budweiser and produced by Live Nation and Icon Entertainment, the tour will kick off at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on July 26th and maintain a grueling pace before finally wind down in New Mexico on December 13th.
Mencia's show "Mind of Mencia," which first premiered in 2005 and has become a strong performer for the cable outlet, just started its latest season on Comedy Central and his new comedy special "Carlos Mencia – Performance Enhanced" premiered on the channel on May 18th. His first comedy special "Carlos Mencia: No Strings Attached," was the first original standup DVD to achieve platinum status for Comedy Central.
In the summer of 2007, Mencia starred opposite Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan in the Farrelly Brothers' hit feature film, "The Heartbreak Kid" (DreamWorks). In the fall of 2007, Mencia headlined a nationwide comedy tour titled "Carlos Mencia Live Presented by Bud Light." Mencia recently returned from his second trip to Kuwait after hosting "Operation Myspace," an exclusive concert for American Troops in the Middle East alongside Jessica Simpson and The Pussycat Dolls. The special aired on FX in April 2008.
