TIPTON - Grab your inner tube and get ready to make a splash - a Laguna Splash.

DelGrosso's Amusement Park in Blair County showed off the newest addition to its family-friendly amusement park Tuesday, a $12.5-million water park.

Construction took 15 months to complete. It is the largest expansion project in the park's 69-year history.

"It is so exciting. You can just feel it from everybody with the energy level. We are just so excited and we want to turn the weather around and have 90 days of 80 degrees and sunny," said Carl Crider Jr., DelGrosso's Park general manager.

For the thrill seekers, there is a wave pool.

It has 300,000 gallons of water coming at swimmers with a ripple of waves.

"I am so excited for the wave pool. I got to go in the wave pool last week for training and I just felt like a kid again," Natalie Conte said.

For those who like a slow ride, relax in the "river Lazio" or lazy river. Drift a quarter of a mile and swimmers may forget they are in central Pennsylvania because swimmers float past a mini-Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Laguna Splash is the only Italian-themed water park in America.

The water park is home to a new food court that will sell old and new favorites.

One thing that will remain the same, free parking and free admission to the park. Guests can enjoy a stroll through Tipton's "Little Italy."

If you want to ride and slide, it will cost $29.95.

DelGrosso's managers said they try to keep costs low so many can enjoy the park all summer long.
