It's not the first time KISS has announced a farewell tour. In fact, they've had at least a few over the years.
Gene Simmons, who plays bass and sings, and Paul Stanley, who plays rhythm guitar and also sings, founded KISS in New York City in 1973. Ace Frehley and Peter Criss later joined, with Frehley playing lead guitar and Criss on drums, respectably.
Frehley and Criss left the band in the 1980s and there have been lineup changes over the years. Other past members include Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, and Bruce Kulick.
For their final tour, Simmons and Stanley will be joined by Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer.
Known for wearing face paint, elaborate pyrotechnics during shows, and Simmon's massive tongue, the band's most popular hits include "Rock & Roll All Nite," and "Beth."
The release noted KISS earned "more Gold Album Record Awards than any American rock band in the history of The Recording Industry Association of America's Gold and Platinum certifications."
