Bellefonte man charged after police find video of him sexually assaulting young boy
Elk Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Elk County have charged a Bellefonte man with various sex crimes after police discovered a video of him sexually assaulting a young boy, according to a criminal complaint.
Troopers say Christopher Dinger, 31, faces a slew of sex-related charges including child pornography, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault and child endangerment, according to online court documents.
Investigators say in April of 2020, troopers received a CyberTipline report in regards to a video that showed an adult man sexually assaulting a young boy while the child is sleeping.
Police say the video was reported by Facebook after it was sent via Facebook messenger to Dinger.
Upon further investigation, troopers say Dinger was identified as the man in the video assaulting the child after investigators noticed his reflection in a mirror located in the child's bedroom.
Dinger was arraigned on the charges Tuesday and is being held at the Elk County Prison, on $250,000 bail, court dockets show.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 26.
