Watch Post Malone Turn Traditional Nursery Rhymes Into Rap Bangers
Whether inspired by J. Cruz, the Radio DJ and one of our Father of the Year Honorees who started the Llama Llama rap craze, or doing it on their own volition, a lot of outlets are asking hip-hop artists to perform renditions of lullabies and children’s stories. Recently, rapper Post Malone appeared on the YouTube show Good Mythical Morning with Rhett and Link and he and the hosts played a game where they had to perform nursery rhymes in the style of famous rappers.
In a segment titled “Rap A Bye Baby On the Hip-Hop,” Rhett kicked it off by performing I’m a Little Teapot in the styling of Snoop Dogg and Link followed it up with a Kanye-West styled version of “Hickory Dickory Dock”. For his first choice, Post knocked down “Itsy Bitsy Spider” in the style of Sugar Hill Gang. For his second song, Post killed it with a version of “Old McDonald” in the style of rap dugo Migos.
The kicker had to be Rhett crooning “Mary Had a Little Lamb” in the style of Post Malone himself. While so many rappers would sulk at the prospect of being imitated this way, Post ran with saying “I’m upset I didn’t write it.” In a close second, was Link’s Beastie Boys rendition of “Hush Little Baby.” All in all, everyone has a blast and all performances were entertaining.
